Sculptor Gunes Akseki is creating a series of archetypes as busts of approx. 42" hi. His chosen material for these characters is clay. Gunes believes that an artist may use any process or technology to create their vision. For this exploration he has created the forms digitally while manifesting their physical reality traditionally. He often draws from the past to arrive at a solution that will live in the present and beyond. These photographs of the initial piece exhibit not only a classic traditional facial form but also reveal some futuristic details. There is also a novel use of anatomy as negative space. Please explore the images and decide for yourself and check back in awhile for additions to "The Archetypes".
Please note that these are progression images (7/31/17) as this Archetype is not yet completed.
